Cleethorpes is straightforward to reach once you know the route. Here’s what you need before you travel.
By Car
The most practical option for most visitors and all contractors. Cleethorpes sits at the end of the A180, which connects to the M180 at junction 5 — that feeds into the M18, M62 and the rest of the network.
Approximate drive times: Leeds, 1h 45m. Nottingham, 1h 30m. Sheffield, 1h 30m. London, 3h 15m in normal traffic.
Parking near the seafront fills fast on summer weekends and school holidays. Knightly Stays properties include driveway or close on-street parking — leave the car at the home and walk.
By Train
The Cleethorpes branch line runs from Sheffield via Doncaster and Grimsby. Direct services run throughout the day — around 1h 45m from Sheffield. From London King’s Cross, change at Doncaster for a total journey of around 2h 45m.
Cleethorpes station sits directly on the seafront. Walk out of the station and you’re on the promenade — one of the better arrivals in the country.
From the North via Hull
Hull is 35 minutes across the Humber Bridge. The bridge toll is paid westbound only (driving away from Cleethorpes). From Hull, the A180 is straightforward into town.
For Contractors
If you’re arriving for a project in Grimsby, Immingham, the Humber ports or offshore supply, you’ll almost certainly be driving. The homes are set up for it: driveway or close parking, easy access to the A180 and A160 for your site routes.
What to Pack
The coast in any season means wind. A proper waterproof jacket is worth more than most things you’ll add to your bag. Summer days can be genuinely warm — sun cream, layers for the evening. For long stays, bring what you need for work. The homes handle everything else.
